INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS

The deadline for submitting abstracts HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO OCTOBER 03, 2022 UNTIL 11:59 pm (Brasilia time)

INSTRUÇÕES AOS AUTORES

  1. The submission of the work is conditioned to the registration of at least one of the authors/co-authors, this being the presenter of the work, as a participant in the International Symposium on Minimal Treatment and Breast Imaging (BreastMit) 2022;
  2. In this edition of BreastMit 2022, we will have 2 categories for submissions. (1) free themes and 2) educational classes
  3. Papers registered as free themes will be selected only for oral presentation within the scientific framework of the International Symposium on Minimal Treatment and Breast Imaging (BreastMit) 2022. The presentation will last 7 minutes and must be performed by one of the authors, being enrolled in the International Symposium on Minimal Treatment and Breast Imaging (BreastMit) 2022.
  4. Educational classes will be selected for oral presentation within BreastMit’s schedule. The class presentation will last 15 minutes and must be performed by an author registered at the International Symposium on Minimal Treatment and Breast Imaging (BreastMit) 2022. The author of the selected class is automatically invited to write a review article on the topic for the Journal of the Brazilian Society of Mastology:Mastology..
  5. In this edition of the International Symposium on Minimal Treatment and Breast Imaging (BreastMit) 2022, we will have 2 categories of free themes: (1) original articles and (3) case reports of breast cancer treatment de-escalation;
  6. Case reports will be evaluated by the scientific committee and only unpublished cases that are relevant to clinical practice will be accepted. In case reports, in order to avoid ethical conflicts, patients’ names cannot be sent, only their initials. Photos that may expose the patient’s identity will be vetoed by the commission
  7. Each paper may have 1 author and up to 7 (seven) co-authors, provided that at least the presenter is registered in the Congress;
  8. Interested parties should send abstracts of free themes or educational classes in pdf exclusively through the system available on the congress website.
  1. The deadline for submission of works will be October 03, 2022 UNTIL 11:59 pm (Brasilia time);;
  2. The abstract must be sent in word or .txt through the site’s paper submission page, with a maximum of 3,000 characters (no spaces), without graphics or illustrations
  3. The abstract must be written in English;
  4. Free themes must be sent electronically in the form of an abstract, which must include:
    • Title,
    • Introduction/Relevance
    • Objectives
    • Methodology
    • Results
    • Discussion/Conclusion
  5. All abbreviations must be specified in the body of the text, when used for the first time;
  6. Educational classes must be sent in pdf together with a 3-minute video of the class recorded on zoom.
  7. Areas of interest for free oral themes:
  • Breast imaging (general).
  • Custom tracking.
  • Tomosynthesis.
  • Contrast Mammography (CESM).
  • Breast Magnetic Resonance.
  • Breast Interventionism.
  • Surgical treatment of breast cancer.
  • De-escalation of local surgical treatment of breast cancer.
  • De-escalation of surgical treatment of the axilla in breast cancer.
  • De-escalation of radiotherapy treatment for breast cancer.
  • Personalized systemic treatment and targeted therapy of breast cancer.
  • De-escalation and selective escalation of breast cancer.
  • De-escalation and selective escalation of radiotherapy in breast cancer.
  • Genetic counseling and selective approaches to breast cancer.
  1. Suggested, but not exclusive, themes for educational classes
  • Breast cancer screening beyond mammography – cDNA
  • De-escalating the treatment of luminal breast cancer in post-menopausal women – State of the art.
  • Neoadjuvant systemic treatment as a new gold standard for breast cancer.
  1. We recommend carefully checking the entire content of the abstract, including contact details for the responsible author
  2. The Scientific and Judging Commission will select the works of each category that will be published on the website of the International Symposium on Minimal Treatment and Breast Imaging (BreastMit) 2022. The decisions of the Scientific Commission are sovereign and unappealable;
  3. The person responsible for the submission will be informed, by e-mail, of the acceptance or not of the work(s) of his/her authorship as of 11/05/2022.
  4. A contact e-mail must be included in the electronic presentation for possible questions from delegates and the organizing committee;
  5. A single certificate will be issued for each approved work, containing the title of the work and the name of all authors, respecting the order they were informed during submission.
  6. Certificates will be made available to all authors after the event. To issue the certificate, the participant must log into the system using the CPF and password provided during registration and access the My Certificates area, which will be available from 11/06/2022
  7. The registration of the work implies the agreement of the author(s) with the norms established by the Scientific Committee for its judgment, as well as the authorization for its reproduction in print or electronically in publications under the responsibility of the promoting or supporting entities of the International Symposium on Minimal Treatment and Breast Imaging (BreastMit) 2022.
  8. During the registration, the full name of the authors, as well the institution to which each one is linked, must be provided

EVALUATION OF WORKS

  1. 1. All abstracts received that comply with this regulation will be evaluated by the members of the Judging Committee for Free Themes. The criteria for judgment are: originality and relevance; design; statistical treatment of the material and method used; adequacy of the text, clarity in the presentation of the results and correlation with the conclusions.
  2. 2. All classes received that comply with this regulation will be evaluated by the members of the Judging Committee for Free Themes. The criteria for judgment are: originality and relevance; clarity; cohesion, content and correlation with daily practice and conclusions.
  3. 3. Abstracts accepted for evaluation will be forwarded to the Judging Committee blindly as to authorship and institution.

 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS

  1. After receiving confirmation of registration, the person responsible for sending the work must access the restricted area, informing the CPF or international document and PASSWORD registered during registration. The “My Works” button will be available in the upper left corner of the subscriber’s area.
  2. Click on the “Submit Works” option. Follow the onscreen instructions to access the abstract submission form. Fill in all fields of the online form. It is mandatory to fill in the CPF or international document and e-mail fields for all authors and co-authors.. Upload the file in PDF extension, click the submit button and wait for the file to load.
  3. After submitting the abstract, you will be directed to the “My works” page, where you can follow the status of all submitted works in the left column.

The system will automatically send an e-mail confirming the information registered to all the authors of the work, who will also be able to follow it on the “My Works” page if they are registered for the congress. Upon receiving the e-mail, please verify that all information is correct. If they are not, it is necessary to access the restricted area again and cancel the work to send it again with the relevant corrections (which can only be done until the deadline for submission of abstracts).
